The most golden recipe…especially for women

I’m sure you have heard about the health benefits of turmeric. You can essentially call it the multi-purpose spice – it nourishes the body on many levels in a very soothing, warming, comforting way. It is particularly beneficial in cooler and colder weather to warm the body.

It is also a great cleanser as our ancestors may have known very well. It is particularly good for restoring the liver, healing the reproductive organs and conditions like arthritis. Women have a lot to benefit from this remarkable root as it boosts the health of the entire female reproductive system.

The best part of it all…turmeric is culinary. You can easily get it anywhere – the ground form and even the root.

It’s natural gold.

Here is a delicious recipe called Golden Milk, from Yogi Bhajan of Kundalini Yoga. Truly, it is amazing.

Ingredients:

PASTE

1/4 cup turmeric powder

1/2 cup water

For the paste, stir the turmeric with water in a pot on the stove at medium heat for 7 minutes or until it looks like this:

This paste can stay for 2 weeks refrigerated in a glass container.

To make one cup of milk:

Take 1 tsp of the paste and add to 1 cup of milk of your choice.

Gently warm for a couple of minutes until the paste dissolves.

You may also add a few drops black strap molasses and sesame oil to taste.

Here’s what a cup of golden milk like in the end:
